Battens 50 aluminum cladding, with profiles up to 6 meters high, defines the façades of the Biosquare skyscraper in São Paulo.
Located in Pinheiros, one of São Paulo’s main districts, Biosquare spans over 56,000 m² of built area and brings together corporate spaces, retail areas and other functions within a single complex. The architectural project was designed by Perkins&Will São Paulo, with G.D8 Incorporadora as developer and Libercon Engenharia responsible for construction.
For the façades, ForMe Design’s SKIN Battens 50 aluminum profiles were selected in two configurations: 50×200 with RAL 9007 finish and 50×300 with RAL 1001 Beige finish. The two profile sections complement the extensive glazed surfaces and define the vertical rhythm of different portions of the building.
Technical consultancy for the façades, windows and cladding systems was provided by Crescêncio Consultoria e Engenharia, while ITEFAL handled the installation of the façades, cladding systems and windows.

Battens 50 on the Biosquare façades
Biosquare reaches a total built area of 56,270 m². The corporate areas include floor plates of up to 2,600 m², while a retail boulevard of approximately 2,700 m² occupies the ground floor. The rooftop is located on the 25th floor.
On the façades, Battens 50 is used to create long vertical sequences in relation to the glazed surfaces. Overall, the project features approximately 15,000 linear meters of SKIN Battens 50 profiles, in the 50×200 and 50×300 sections.
The two depths introduce variation into the façade design while maintaining the same system, making the profiles a distinctive element within the composition of the building envelope.
Two sections and two finishes for the Biosquare project
The configuration developed for Biosquare combines Battens 50×200 in RAL 9007 with Battens 50×300 in RAL 1001 Beige.
The Battens 50 range includes profiles with different depths and anchoring systems selected according to the specific application. For façades of commercial and large-scale buildings, ForMe Design also provides a substructure with stainless steel brackets, onto which the extruded aluminum profiles are installed.
The possibility of adjusting the profile section, spacing, orientation and finish allows the system to be configured in relation to the façade design. At Biosquare, the two sections are coordinated with the window systems and glazed surfaces, while maintaining a common technology across the different portions of the façade.
Profiles up to 6 meters long
Battens 50 extruded aluminum profiles can reach lengths of up to 6 meters, making it possible to create long vertical elements while minimizing visible interruptions.
For taller walls, the system includes specific connection elements between the Battens. The range also includes different brackets, fixing rails and end caps, selected according to the configuration required by the project.
These features allow different sections and lengths to be used within the same building envelope, while maintaining continuity in the vertical design of the façade.
Performance and certifications for commercial applications
SKIN Battens 50 is an extruded aluminum profile system supported by technical documentation covering different application methods, together with specific certifications and performance tests.
At Biosquare, the façade system forms part of a broader project that also integrates vegetation across the elevations and on the rooftop, located approximately 130 meters above ground level. The building was developed according to sustainability and user well-being objectives, with Fitwel certification and a LEED Gold certification process.
In the project designed by Perkins&Will, Battens 50 contributes to the vertical composition of the façades through two profile sections and two finishes, integrating with the complex’s extensive glazed surfaces.
